ClearBank, a pioneer in real-time clearing and embedded banking, has named Valerie Romanovskaya as its new UK Chief Financial Officer, pending regulatory approval. Romanovskaya, who previously served as Director of Finance and Head of FP&A at HSBC Innovation Bank, brings more than twenty years of experience in finance, accounting, and auditing. She joins ClearBank’s UK executive team and board of directors. Founded in 2015, ClearBank has a strong market position in agency and embedded banking infrastructure and serves high-profile clients like TrueLayer and Coinbase. Last year, the bank saw a 91% growth in total income, reaching £111.3 million, and recorded its first annual pre-tax profit. The new appointment comes shortly after Emma Hagan was named UK CEO. Romanovskaya will collaborate with Hagan and ClearBank’s CFO Mark Fairless to drive UK growth and support the company’s broader financial strategy. Romanovskaya expressed her admiration for ClearBank’s tech-driven banking model and affirmed her commitment to advancing the company’s UK and international ambitions.
