While terms of the transaction with the selling entity AE Industrial Partners were not disclosed, the move aims to bolster Altus’ rapid expansion and solidify its position as a national leader in its sector. Founded in 1993 and headquartered in New York, Altus provides a suite of compliance-based fire and life safety solutions, including testing, inspection, monitoring, and upgrades. Over recent years, the company has notably expanded its operations through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions. The new investment by Apax, known for their robust experience in scaling businesses, marks a critical step in Altus’ journey. Leadership from both Altus and Apax expressed enthusiasm, highlighting opportunities for growth in new products, services, and geographic markets. AE Industrial Partners, which acquired Altus in 2021, worked on rebranding and operational optimization efforts. Advisor roles included Lincoln International for Altus and William Blair and Solomon Partners for Apax.
