Innovate Cambridge, a regional tech advocacy group, has appointed Kathryn Chapman as its new executive director. Chapman, who previously served as the innovation director at the Babraham Research Campus, will now lead Innovate Cambridge’s strategy to support the tech industry in the city. Dealroom’s research estimated the tech sector in Cambridge to be worth $191bn, making up approximately 18% of the entire British tech industry. Innovate Cambridge was founded in 2022 by Cambridge Enterprise, Cambridge Innovation Capital, and the University of Cambridge. As the group prepares for the upcoming Innovate Cambridge summit, Chapman aims to harness the collective efforts of the city’s innovation sector to drive economic growth. Michael Anstey, partner at Cambridge Innovation Capital, highlighted Chapman’s experience and determination as key assets at this pivotal moment for Cambridge’s tech ecosystem.
