Climate-focused deep tech startup HabiTerre has secured $10 million in the initial close of its Series A round, with John Deere leading the investment. HabiTerre, which previously received seed funding from John Deere, uses a combination of remote sensing, process models, and artificial intelligence to analyze the environmental impact of agricultural practices. The firm plans to use the new capital to scale its technology and become a global standard for sustainability metrics in agriculture. HabiTerre’s system-of-systems technology, developed by University of Illinois professor Dr. Kaiyu Guan, has already shown promise in pilot programs with Deere and other commercial customers. Additionally, HabiTerre aims to raise an additional $3 million to $4 million to meet increasing market demand for climate tech solutions. CEO Nick Reinke emphasizes the company’s broader ambition to serve as scalable technological infrastructure not just for agriculture but for broader climate impact applications.
