The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has provisionally identified competition concerns with Lindab’s acquisition of British ventilation company HAS-Vent, particularly in the supply of circular ducts and fittings around Nottingham and Stoke-on-Trent. The CMA’s Phase 2 review suggests the deal could result in reduced choices and higher prices for ventilation systems, impacting the construction sector and specialist installers. This acquisition, announced by Lindab last October, aims to strengthen its UK market presence in sales and production of ventilation products. The CMA has set a deadline of Sept. 12 for the companies to respond to these findings, with a final report expected by Oct. 17.
