London-based AI startup Gradient Labs, founded by three former Monzo employees, has successfully raised £2.8 million in seed funding. The company is focusing on developing advanced AI customer service agents that mimic human interactions, capable of addressing up to 80% of customer queries by leveraging actions and account data. The investment round was led by LocalGlobe with participation from Puzzle Ventures and notable individual investors including Monzo co-founder Tom Blomfield. Gradient Labs’ founders, Dimitri Masin, Neal Lathia, and Danai Antoniou, bring significant expertise from their previous roles at Monzo. The startup aims to redefine customer support by deploying AI agents that assure quality outcomes even in high-risk environments.
