Vantedge Medical, a portfolio company of Aterian Investment Partners, has acquired Hobson & Motzer, a Connecticut-based manufacturer of precision medical devices. Founded in 1912, Hobson specializes in consumable devices for the global surgical stapler market. This acquisition is Vantedge’s fifth medical technology add-on since 2018, enhancing its nationwide manufacturing capacity and expanding its technical expertise. Vantedge will now operate nine facilities across the U.S., employing over 1,200 people. The deal aims to provide new capabilities, improve supply chain efficiency, and accelerate time-to-market for medical OEMs. Legal advisement on the transaction was provided by Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP.
