The Board of Directors of COFIDES has appointed Ángela Pérez as the new Chairperson and CEO, effective July 8, 2024. Pérez, who holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Complutense University of Madrid and a diploma from IESE Business School, brings over three decades of experience to the role. She has extensive expertise in investment banking, public sector finance, and private enterprise, including a recent focus on financial structuring in the infrastructure and energy sectors at Elecnor. She succeeds José Luis Curbelo, under whose leadership COFIDES saw significant growth and diversification in its financial management and international cooperative initiatives. COFIDES is a state-owned company focused on financing private investments to achieve public policy goals, including the internationalization of Spanish companies and managing funds aimed at post-pandemic recovery and sustainable investments. The Spanish state holds a majority stake in the company, with the remainder owned by prominent financial institutions and development banks.
