GBUK, a portfolio company of the London-based private equity firm A&M Capital Europe (AMCE), has acquired Care & Independence (C&I), a specialized UK provider of patient handling and moving devices. Founded in 1985, C&I offers medical slings, bathing equipment, and broader postural support devices, primarily serving the National Health Service (NHS) and local authorities. This acquisition is expected to bolster GBUK’s presence in the UK patient handling market, expanding their product portfolio and establishing a stronger platform for growth. GBUK, which was advised by Burness Paull, Accuracy, and EY, supports healthcare professionals and patients in over 45 countries with a wide range of medical devices. This transaction marks GBUK’s first acquisition since AMCE’s investment in December 2023. AMCE, specializing in building pan-European platform companies, manages 650 million euros under its current fund.
