Renesas Electronics Corporation and Altium Limited announced that they have received final regulatory approval from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) for their proposed merger. This was the last regulatory hurdle, following authorizations from Australia, Germany, Turkey, and the U.S. The next key steps include Altium’s shareholder vote on July 12, 2024, and a court hearing in New South Wales on July 18, 2024. If approved, the acquisition is set to be finalized on August 1, 2024. The deal will enable Renesas to enhance its capabilities in semiconductor solutions, while Altium will continue to provide leading electronics design software.
