In a significant move to combat fake ad traffic, Manchester-based venture capital investor Praetura Ventures has invested in ad tech business Lunio. Existing investors Smedvig Ventures and Fuel Ventures also participated in this round. Lunio, founded by Neil Andrew in 2018, serves over 1,000 businesses globally, including prominent names like M&S and Hugo Boss. The firm aims to expand its reach in Europe and the US using the new funds. Lunio’s platform automatically identifies and eliminates invalid traffic from bots, providing performance marketers with actionable insights to enhance ad spend efficiency. Reports indicate substantial financial damage from fake traffic, with one in 12 paid ad clicks being invalid in 2024. Praetura Ventures’ investment underscores its commitment to innovative tech solutions, adding to its portfolio of AdTech and MarTech companies.
