GEP, a prominent provider of AI-driven procurement and supply chain software, has acquired OpusCapita, an established Europe-based provider of e-invoicing and procurement solutions headquartered in Helsinki, Finland. The acquisition aims to combine GEP’s advanced procurement and supply chain software with OpusCapita’s leading e-invoicing and accounts payable automation solutions. This move significantly bolsters GEP’s presence in the Nordic countries and northern Europe, complementing its existing strengths in the U.K., central, and southern Europe. Founded in 1985, OpusCapita supports 600 clients and operates with 220 employees across the Nordics, continental Europe, and the U.S. The deal will enable OpusCapita to function as a stand-alone subsidiary, leveraging GEP’s comprehensive product portfolio and extensive R&D capabilities. Key executives from both companies, including GEP’s CEO Subhash Makhija and Chief Product Officer Santosh Nair, have expressed enthusiasm for the partnership’s potential to drive significant advancements in procurement automation through AI and low-code solutions. GEP acquired OpusCapita from PSG Equity, which had previously held a majority stake since 2019. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
