Seedcamp, a notable venture capital firm, has backed Light, an AI-powered general ledger platform aimed at automating global company finances. Founded by Jonathan Sanders and Filip Kozjak, Light seeks to overhaul legacy ERP systems from the 80s and 90s, which are increasingly inadequate for modern business needs. Light aims to unify accounting, tax, payments, and reporting across multiple countries and currencies, thereby significantly reducing month-end closing times and improving accuracy. The platform can integrate with various corporate tools, including CRM and HRM systems. The recent $13M seed round, led by Atomico, includes participation from Seedcamp, Entre Capital, Cherry Ventures, and notable angels like Mario Götze. The funding will aid in further development and scaling of the platform, leveraging insights from advisors with backgrounds at Workday, SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft Dynamics.
