Templewater, a private equity firm based in Hong Kong, has expanded its portfolio by acquiring significant healthcare entities in Asia with legal advice by Goodwin. The recent acquisitions include the Singapore Breast Surgery Center, the Central Luzon Integrated Oncology Centre in the Philippines, and Can-Care, a retailer and distributor of post-cancer care products. These strategic acquisitions were facilitated by Goodwin’s cross-office team led by Edwin Chan. TW Pengu Holdings Limited, backed by Templewater, aimed to establish a premier oncology service provider by attracting top doctors and practices. Templewater utilized Goodwin’s services for acquiring OncoCare and Novena Heart Centre in December 2023, which were foundational moves before this recent expansion. The Goodwin team advising on these transactions comprised experts from a range of practice areas including debt finance, life sciences, privacy, IP, tax, global trade, financial services, and risk management. Templewater’s broad investment approach spans private equity, impact investing, and real estate, with a current focus on mid-market control buyouts in the Asia Pacific.
