Pharmacy2U, the UK’s leading digital pharmacy, has acquired The PharmPet Co, an online veterinary pharmacy. This undisclosed deal is a progression of a partnership formed in November 2023, which aimed at delivering pet prescriptions more efficiently and at a lower cost. Founded in Lincoln in 2019 by the Younger family, The PharmPet Co is known for its ethical approach to dispensing pet medicines. Pharmacy2U, based in Leeds, states that this acquisition is in line with its goal to provide comprehensive consumer healthcare and NHS prescriptions while now expanding into pet health services. The acquisition supports Pharmacy2U’s strategy to offer a holistic healthcare experience for customers and their pets under one roof. The integration of the companies has already shown success with Pharmacy2U Pet Health’s growth since the partnership. This comes at a time when pet owners face challenges securing competitive pricing from veterinarians amidst a cost-of-living crisis. The founders of The PharmPet Co, Neil and Phil Younger, will lead the pet health segment at Pharmacy2U. Gary Dannatt, Chief of Staff at Pharmacy2U, remarked on the strategic and value alignment between the companies and the founders’ commendable work in creating a valuable service for UK pet owners. He expressed enthusiasm for combining efforts to provide exceptional value and service, cementing Pharmacy2U’s commitment to a digital-first healthcare approach.
