Rexel, the global distributor of energy-related products and services, has announced the agreement to acquire Talley, a premier US distributor of wireless infrastructure products, aiming to expand its reach in the data usage sector. Talley has an established market presence since 1983, known for providing network infrastructure to varied operators and with a projected turnover of $360 million in 2024. The acquisition enhances Rexel’s existing $700 million sales in North American datacom and data center markets by adding complementary offerings and electrified solutions. By leveraging Talley’s expertise and market reach, including in burgeoning areas like in-building wireless and private LTE, Rexel positions itself to capitalize on the electrification trend and digital connectivity. Guillaume Texier, Rexel’s CEO, views the acquisition as a pivotal move to amplify their presence in the US and aligns with their strategy to focus on rapidly growing trends and sectors. The transaction, expected to close in June pending antitrust approval, is seen as financially accretive to Rexel, projecting a synergized EBITDA multiple of around 7x. Rexel operates across 19 countries with a substantial workforce and reported sales of 19.2 billion in 2023, indicating a robust global footprint in the professional distribution of energy solutions.
