Abu Dhabi Aviation (ADA) has successfully completed the acquisition of stakes in three companies from ADQ, enhancing its position as an integrated aviation group. ADA, which provides a range of aviation services and operates a fleet of 62 aircraft, has acquired 100% of the shares of Etihad Airway Engineering (EYE) and Advanced Military Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Centre (AMMROC), alongside a 50% stake in Global Aerospace Logistics (GAL). The transaction involved the issuance of a mandatory convertible instrument valued at approximately AED 4 billion, in exchange for the shares. EYE is recognized for MRO services and supports the UAE’s national carrier, Etihad Airways, with substantial infrastructure and a workforce of over 2,000. AMMROC delivers comprehensive MRO services for various aircraft types and incorporates engineering solutions, technical training, and supply chain management. GAL, commanding a significant presence in the MRO market, has over 5,000 employees and services more than 45 aircraft types. This acquisition positions ADA for expanded growth, increases its workforce to over 9,500 employees, and enhances its offerings in aviation services. It also extends ADA’s value chain into the MRO sector, aligning with Abu Dhabi’s vision as a global aviation hub. H.E. Nader Ahmed Mohamed Alhammadi, Chairman of ADA, emphasized the strategic importance of the deal in strengthening ADA’s competitive edge and enabling the company to meet customer needs with a renewed commitment to excellence.
