The Riverside Company, a global private equity firm, completed the acquisition of Arbeidsmiljø og Energiteknikk AS (AET), a Norwegian distributor of consumables and laboratory/cleaning equipment. This acquisition serves as an add-on to Riverside’s portfolio company, Dastex Reinraumzubehör GmbH & Co. KG, which specializes in cleanroom clothing and consumables in Europe. AET, a company with over 30 years of history, is recognized for its strong technical proficiency and industry knowledge. The firm is notably active within sectors such as pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and healthcare. The acquisition harmoniously aligns with Dastex’s operations, as AET’s offerings merge seamlessly with the group’s core business, additionally enhancing its verification and validation services. With AET’s integration, Riverside aims to expand its geographical footprint, establishing a direct presence in Norway and reinforcing Dastex’s competitive stance in the Nordic region. The acquisition is instrumental in realizing Riverside’s pan-European buy-and-build strategy for Dastex, paving the way for greater commercial tactics and cross-selling synergies in the Nordic territories. Current AET CEO Barbro Reiersøl will continue leading the Norwegian operations, ensuring a smooth transition and bringing enduring leadership under the expanded Dastex group. Rune Arnhoff, owner at RA Service AS, entrusted Dastex to uphold AET’s legacy. Linda Vereycken, CEO of Dastex, noted the streamlined integration with core competencies and welcomed the broadened service offering and geographical reach. Previously in mid-2023, Riverside acquired Dastex and its first add-on, Vita Verita, with the intention of nurturing a lead in cleanroom contamination control. The Riverside Company focuses on the lower end of the middle market and has engaged in over 1,000 investments since inception in 1988. Their commitment to fostering transformative growth and enduring value has been at the core of Riverside Europe’s investment strategy since 1989.
