Egress distinguishes itself by providing AI-driven risk assessment and policy control that helps safeguard organizations from sophisticated email threats and data breaches. Its suite employs machine learning and neural networks to enhance email protection and provide organizations with insights into human risk. KnowBe4, with over 65,000 global clients, is spearheaded by IT and data security specialist Stu Sjouwerman and focuses on the human aspects of security threats by educating employees on various social engineering tactics. Orrick has represented Egress in the transaction, the terms of which remain undisclosed. The acquisition marks a significant move by KnowBe4 to create what will be the world’s most advanced AI-driven cybersecurity platform for managing human risk. This platform will combine analytics and threat intelligence to provide tailored security training and email protection, thus proactively managing potential breaches. Both companies share a vision of delivering personalized security measures, as articulated by Egress CEO Tony Pepper. This merger aims at enhancing the ability of organizations to preemptively identify and mitigate security compromises.
