British Patient Capital, the venture capital investment subsidiary of the UK government’s British Business Bank, has dedicated £40.6 million to the Evolution Technology Fund III, which is managed by Evolution Equity Partners. This fund focuses on enterprise software and cybersecurity investment. Evolution Equity Partners has previously made significant investments in companies like Quantexa, which raised £51m in 2020, and Panaseer, which secured £21.1m in 2021. This strategic move showcases the UK’s emphasis on cyber strength and foregrounds its expertise within the broader technological sector. Investment director Robert Greenwood underlines the importance of cybersecurity as business ecosystems worldwide aim to enhance protection against the widening landscape of cyber threats. Further highlighting the critical nature of the fund’s goals, Richard Seewald, founder and managing partner of Evolution Equity Partners, expresses the fund’s commitment to bolstering defenses and building European leaders in the cybersecurity sector. With a total of $1.1bn secured for its third fund, Evolution Equity Partners plans to make impactful investments, targeting amounts of $20m to $150m in promising enterprises.
