Welcome to Great Glemham…

Great Glemham is an attractive Suffolk village situated a mile or two to the west of the busy A12 and roughly equidistant between Framlingham and Saxmundham. The parish takes the shape of an irregular triangle formed by two clay ridges flanking the channel of a seasonal watercourse, the Gull, flowing NW to SE to join the upper River Alde which forms its eastern boundary. The heart of the village is centred around a staggered cross roads and contains some fifty dwellings as well as the fine 14C All Saints Church, the Crown Inn, our very own pristine K6 Telephone Box (venue for community events and information) and the modernised village hall.

Although small, with a population of around 200, the village prides itself on being a lively community. There are several clubs and societies, many of which meet in the very well appointed village hall, and it is hoped that informal gatherings at the bar of the Crown will be possible again in the near future.

Although, alas, there is no longer a permanent village store, the village is served by a regular milkman and a grocer/greengrocer and a fishmonger make weekly visits, fresh produce is available from a stand opposite the Crown.
